She cried like a little girl

Recently, I made a video for a friend’s wedding. She had gone back to her home country for her wedding, and would probably not return to NZ anymore. So I figured I would make a video of well-wishes from her friends in NZ.

I had a background song ready. I even had a choreography style set in mind. I wanted it to be touching – and I didn’t mind overdoing the sentimentality, as long as it was necessary in order to evoke a tear-response, haha =_=

From writing the script, organizing the people to be in the video, going out for the video capturing, trying to do a sound re-recording, sitting in front of the computer doing the editing, sound mixing etc, it turned out to be a major effort, but I enjoyed it so much, and learned a lot. I wish I could show you what I mean.

A week ago I sent the video to her sister, who had arranged for it to be played on her wedding day without her knowing. Yesterday I got a text message from her sister, telling me that she “cried like a little girl” when she saw the video on her wedding day. I wish I was there to see it, because it sounded too cute to miss!

On a slightly more serious note, would you agree that we all still have a “child” within us, even with all the “adult” behaviours we’ve picked up along the way? Sometimes we just want to hide in parental arms when we’re scared, for instance. I’m too sleepy.

Tell me what you think.

Having a friend like you is a bless. :)

I agree that we all have a child within us. Once we have the chance, we will expose it.

I still remember a bunch of friends playing hide-and-seek and other kid’s games even though we are all adults in 20s and 30s. We want to be kids sometimes.

    hey,
Glad to hear u did such a tremendous job on the video. Though i’ve never done a video before, but i truly understand the toughness of the sound recording, editting, engineering, mixing etc…For me, having to sit in front of the comp for long making the demos, keeping both my ears alert to listen attentively in order to adjust the balance btw diff sounds n vocals ( In case if there are vocal singing tracks required), those are truly time-consuming n tiring. But in the end of the day, u really gain much after completing the whole session. It’s simply joyous. Haha…afterall that’s what music is for…bringing joy to our lives.=)
