thanks for reading, Ke Li! You sure do have interesting flatmates and friends in Wellington! I definitely didn't know there was such a country - but then my geography is really very, very poor.

Thanks for putting your memory into words. Felt like i've been to Uganda too. I have a new flatmate from Cameroon and he is doing PHD in Geography. He has been educating me about political events in the African continent. Just realized there is a country called Burkina Faso. :)

hey Jie, thanks so much for taking the time to visit and reading the whole lot! I do realize it is very long and I thought of splitting it up, but I thought I just wanted to finish this as soon as possible haha. I actually wrote these parts one or two months back - all I need now is to post them up with some photos.

Well, I wouldn't call the Chinese food that we had there in Kampala "very good" - but it was certainly better than what I expected to find in Africa haha. And I guess I was pretty hungry at that time too!

Take care and I hope all is well with you and your teaching!

Thank you thank you again for sharing this!

The story is long but I finished reading it and enjoyed it a lot too. Both your writing and pictures are great... I think you must've spent quite some time on this. What a work! Admire you, Joe.

I am surprised that you can eat very good Chinese food there. I can't even find a good Chinese restaurant in the town I live now. Is it because you were very hungry at the time? lol

Bless :)

hey grace, thanks for the comment! yea i still remember the whole trip very well - and i miss a lot of it often... ;/

you don't have to envy; i'm sure you'll be able to step out one day. mind you it takes a lot of preparation for the flights, visas, packing etc though! can be tiring (i was tired for almost 1 year after that haha) but truly eye-opening!

Such an exciting and colourful journey Joseph. You must have remembered the adventure so vividly to still be able to write about it after so long. It makes me envy of what you've seen and done, I hope I get to do something like this one day! Makes me wonder how hard it really is to make that first step, and what's putting me back... Hum let's pray that God will prepare me to be brave enough when it's my time to go out of my comfort zone.
