A UNESCO World Heritage Site for a reason! We had an absolute blast visiting Kakadu.
Perhaps I’ll tell the stories next time, but if I learned anything from my trip to Africa, it is that it may take a few years before I actually get around putting them into words!
Here are but a small selection of photos (click for wallpaper-size) – a humbling attempt to capture the awesomeness out there…

Water lillies waking up to the sunrise

They open up as the day progresses. Pretty, like many things in life.

The jacanas are also called the 'Jesus Bird' because they walk on water.

I almost rammed my face into a few of these spiders while climbing through the rocks. They hang in the middle of nowhere and are incredibly difficult to notice until you are really close!
They scare the crap out of me.

The word osteoderm is stuck in my head now! -_-

They gave a big shout when they pulled out the big barramundi!

The edge of the world it feels like, on top of the massive Gunlom falls.

We're a crazy bunch, obviously.

Pretty sad when the trip came to an end!
Oh well.
( I really need to set up a proper gallery, because dumping photos here is such a sub-par presentation. )
Mmmm more amazing photos… just trying to imaging what it’s like there.
Those spider webs are indeed scary! O_o I suppose if you constantly keep aware, then it’s not so bad, but dang you’d be trying too hard to watch out for spider webs to enjoy the beautiful view! XP
The shot with the bird skimming the water… absolutely beautiful! :D
thanks!
Yup exactly you literally had to keep your eyes peeled for the spiders. I think I would go crazy if one of those spiders landed on my face… shudder.
The photos don’t do the whole scene justice. But I guess you know what I mean ;)

“How many are your works, LORD!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.” Psalms 104:24
Thank you for a picturesque version of this verse.
same old pose you have when you’re being taken photos of, bro
what do you mean?
haha, if I about rammed my face into one of those spiders, I think I wouldn’t've had the composure to take a picture of them. creepy things!
great shots, though. I realize there’s gotta be some post process, but that camera takes some seriously nice shots. the clarity and focus is just fantastic.
thanks, jordan!
got some good lenses, that helps a LOT :)
Hey Joseph,
These are awesome pictures! ( you look a bit retarded / loony in some of them though( no offence) )
But they are still awesome, it looks like you are having fun over there even though you miss melbourne ( and Tauranga :P)
I hope you keep having fun :) and get to do your training too
